Containing three wagons, numbered:

- Bauxite, TOPS livery
- Converted from 1/119 and 1/120 diagrams at Perth between 1985 and 1987
- Used for scrap metal traffic in Scotland and North East England
- 192 wagons converted to MDWs
- Air Pipes fitted for use in Speedlink trains, otherwise identical to ‘standard’ MDVs
- MDWs remained in service until 1992
- Four ran as ZDV/ZYVs in Departmental traffic, the last being withdrawn in 1999
